Technical Guides Home Calrissian.com Home

The following pictorial guide will show you -the webmaster, how best to configure your web pages for optimal use of the web.

Note, this guide is based on Frontpage 2002, however other web-creation software does hold to the same principles.

Stage 1. : You must select 'page properties', right click on the web page to select this option.

Stage 2. In this stage, you will need to enter the command 'name' such as 'cache-control', along with the 'value' information.

Summary notes...

In my view the 'cache-control' with the max-age variable is the Best way to tell servers how to cache your web pages. There are MANY other types of commands you can do though. I suggest you visit some of the links on web caching as listed on the Previous page.
